Building a custom WooCommerce store with a real-time phone case personalization engine — designed, rendered, and integrated entirely from scratch.
Personalization stores typically rely on heavy third-party plugins that limit flexibility, hurt performance, and can't be tailored to a brand's specific product catalog. Outfit965 needed a solution built specifically for their phone case range — one that delivered instant visual feedback, handled dynamic product variations, and passed clean customization data through to the order system without any manual interpretation.
We built the entire platform from scratch on WordPress and WooCommerce, with a custom JavaScript rendering engine at its core. The real-time customizer handles dynamic text placement, color updates, live preview rendering, and user input validation — all on the product page, with no page reloads. Customization data is stored with the cart item, attached to order metadata, and surfaced in the WooCommerce admin so the production team always has precise instructions. The UI was designed mobile-first, with touch-friendly controls and fast rendering across devices.
Custom WooCommerce Store Build

Real-Time Customization Engine
A fully bespoke JavaScript rendering engine powers the phone case customizer. It handles dynamic text placement, color selection, live preview rendering, and user input validation — all in real time on the product page. Customers see exactly how their personalized case will look before adding it to cart.
WooCommerce Cart & Order Integration
Customization data doesn't get lost at checkout. Each design is stored with the cart item as structured metadata, attached to the WooCommerce order, and surfaced clearly in the admin order view. The production team receives exact customization instructions — name, initials, color — with every order, eliminating manual interpretation.
Dynamic Product Variations
Phone models and case variants are dynamically managed within WooCommerce while keeping the customization layer smooth and responsive. Switching between models or variants updates the preview and available options without disrupting the personalization flow.
Mobile-First UX Design
Because most customers shop on mobile, the customizer was built mobile-first — with touch-friendly controls, a responsive layout, fast rendering, and smooth preview updates across screen sizes. Instant visual feedback reduces hesitation and increases purchase confidence for a product category where buyers need to trust what they're getting.
Performance Optimization
