Redesigning and scaling a luxury fashion e-commerce ecosystem on Shopify — with AI try-ons, multi-region architecture, and custom checkout engineering.
A luxury fashion brand needs more than a standard Shopify theme. Meherbaa required a premium storefront redesign, international commerce flows for customers across different regions, and advanced features — like AI virtual try-ons and flexible gift cards — that Shopify's default tooling simply cannot support out of the box. The challenge was to push Shopify well beyond its standard capabilities while keeping the experience seamless and the architecture scalable across three separate stores.
We rebuilt the Meherbaa ecosystem from the ground up. The Shopify storefront was redesigned for a luxury shopping experience with improved mobile UX, optimised galleries, and conversion-focused product pages. We implemented automatic geo-detection to route visitors to their correct regional store with INR or USD pricing. We integrated the Nano Banana API to enable AI-powered virtual try-ons directly on product pages. A fully custom gift card system was engineered using the Shopify Admin API — eliminating the need for any third-party app. Multi-step abandoned cart recovery flows and smart purchase prompts were layered on top to drive conversion across all three stores.
Multi-Store Ecosystem Architecture
The Meherbaa platform spans three Shopify stores: Meherbaa.com (global), Meherbaa.in (India — INR pricing, local payments and shipping), and AnotherrDay.in (a separate brand extension). All three stores share design consistency while supporting independent commerce logic, regional pricing, and localised shipping rules.
Complete Storefront Redesign
The original Shopify theme was replaced with a fully redesigned storefront built for a premium luxury positioning. Improvements include modern product presentation, improved mobile UX, optimised product galleries, clean typography, faster media loading, and conversion-focused product pages that match the brand's high-end identity across all devices.
AI Virtual Try-On — Nano Banana API
We integrated the Nano Banana API to bring AI-powered virtual try-ons directly to Meherbaa product pages. Customers upload a photo, select a garment, and the API generates a realistic preview of the item worn by them. This feature increases purchase confidence, reduces returns, and creates a standout shopping experience that no standard Shopify app provides.
Custom Gift Card Denomination System
Shopify's native gift card system doesn't support custom denominations or personalised values. We engineered a fully custom solution: a bespoke product page UI captures the desired amount, custom checkout logic processes it, and a backend automation layer calls the Shopify Admin API to generate a real Shopify gift card post-purchase. No third-party apps required.
Region Detection & Smart Redirection
International visitors are automatically detected by geographic location. Indian visitors on Meherbaa.com are shown a region-aware popup suggesting Meherbaa.in for INR pricing and local shipping. Users can continue on the global site or switch seamlessly. This logic improves localisation, increases checkout completion, and ensures each customer lands on the most relevant store by default.
Advanced Abandoned Cart Recovery
Standard Shopify cart recovery emails were extended into a custom multi-step flow with personalised product reminders, smart timing sequences, and conversion-focused messaging. This system targets high-value fashion shoppers who are likely to return given the right nudge, significantly improving cart recovery rates across all three stores.
